Asian Vegetable Sauce

This spicy Asian-flavored sauce goes well with any of your favorite vegetables.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 T. Chili Oil (more or less with preference)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 T Grated fresh ginger root, or 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 Tsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Soy Sauce
  • 2 T. Orange Juice
  • 1 T White or rice vinegar
  • 1 T. Sherry, Sake or Mirin
  • Fresh vegetables (snow peas, carrots, mushrooms, anything you wish)

Method

Combine oil, garlic and ginger in 2 quart microwave safe casserole. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 45 seconds. Combine cornstarch with soy sauce in small bowl and stir until smooth. Add soy mixture to garlic mixture along with orange juice, vinegar and sherry. Mix well. Microwave uncovered on high until boiling and slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes, stirring after one minute. Stir after cooking until sauce is smooth. Add veggies and cover tightly with lid or plastic wrap and microwave on high till veggies are tender crisp 3-4 minutes. Stir once. Serve over noodles or ravioli.
