Spicy Black Bean Burger


When it says "Serve Hot," it means what it says, with 1/2 cup of Tabasco sauce and 2 tsp. crushed red pepper added to mashed black beans in these burgers.



Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 Cans Black Beans, drained
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup bottled Hot pepper Sauce
  • 2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Tomato
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Green Pepper
  • 2 Cups Bread Crumbs
  • Ranch dressing
  • Lettuce leaves and tomato slices

Method

Beat black beans, using a electric mixer to mash. Mix in egg. Add hot sauce, crushed red pepper, tomato, green pepper. Stir well. Gradually add in bread crumbs to make mixture stiff enough to form patties. Form 6 patties. Cook in a greased skillet (if made on grill, cook on foil to avoid sticking). Cook for approximately 8 minutes each side on medium-high heat. Remove from heat. Drizzle ranch dressing over the top and place on bun with lettuce & tomato. Serve Hot!

Notes: Great alternative burger!
